Talking Engine swap, 98% done

As the title says!

I'm so excited. I did this engine swap with very very little physical help (on a sloped up driveway) although I did receive a lot of useful infomation on the OCA FB page when I needed to ask questions.

The car is at the shop right now. I didn't feel comfortable installing the shift kit and I do not have, nor have the desire to own, any welding tools. Unfortanlly I did rip out a brake line installing the engine, so that's getting fixed too.

Here are the specs:

1985 Delta 88
1967 Oldsmobile 330 Engine (mostly stock)
~WG heads
~10.25:1 CR
~7 quart oil pan
~HV Miling Oil Pump
~Edelbrock 600 CFM Manual Choke Carb
~Edelbrock 7111 manifold
Dual X pipe exhaust (being installed)
CK Performance Shift Recalibration kit B (being installed)
1980's 442 dual snokel air cleaner
1993 Chevy Caprice 9C1 rear axle with Moser axles drilled with correct 5X4.75 bolt pattern, posi, and 3.42 gears
factory 330 exhaust manifolds (was going to do long tubes, couldn't get them in)

I also painted the 330 the factory color of what a 307 would have been in 1985. I also painted the engine bay after a quick power wash

And here's the 330 sitting in it's new home. Build oil pressure nicely

I have pics of it completely together, but I'm not sure where they are

It's kinda' fun, isn't it?
Good call pulling the motor and trans together. Man I hate trying to get my arms up in there to remove/install those bolts in the car.
Good work Redog!

I tried to do it in the car, I could get the wrench on it, but couldn't turn it. My air ratchet couldn't budge it either.

After pulling them out, I still couldn't budge it. Took the trans and motor apart and somehow did not spill one drop of tranny fliud from the convertor. Dont ask how, because I'm not sure how I did it either.

I bought a higher stall convertor, but still took the convertor off the 307 for a core return. Had to use my electric impact gun with extension. Got it off, but the motor, trans, new convertor and Grade 8 bolts from Home Depot were already back in the car

Guess it will be a little more fun with bigger engine in these big cars ;p. 307 is so lazy when you want to give some throttle.

Those gears will be most useful in this swap with the weight of that thing. That's pretty sweet. Good to see someone using the later rear ends and redrilling or having someone redrill the axles.
