Can someone please tell me the location of the cowl/body tag on a 1956 Oldsmobile 88?

 

On a 55 the cowl tag is on the right hand top side of the cowl just left of the hood spring, should be the same on a 56.... Tedd

Thanks , I appreciate the response. Apparently the tag is missing from a car I'm considering.

 

I don't think the cowl tag is much of a problem if missing other than the specific information it contained about that particular car but if the vin is missing that is a much more serious problem. The vin is located on the drivers side front door post..... Tedd
