Reading his signature would have told you NO.

Seriously, there is one good reason to run a 307 down the track. Once.
When you plan to swap a larger motor for the 307, why not find out how much you gained? That's how I measure bang for the buck. I'll baseline test the 307 and then test the 350 whenever that's done. I wouldn't be surprised if it's 4 or more seconds faster!

Yep, slow but consistant all day long.

True that, I did this with my old Delta too. Sadly that car needed a carb rebuild and it ran 20.40 as it's best time. The limit for the class is 19.99. The 350 was consistant all day too, but if I would have had the stock air cleaner on it, it probably would have been a 14 second car, no problem

I was at Old Brideg Township Raceway Park in Englishtown, NJ

I race for points at that track and I'm in the points this year for the first time in 3 years. The race scheudel worked out that I wouldn't be able to make 4 days because I'll have my son, That's been cut down to two thanks to Mother Nature .

This was an event night and they pick the top guys from each class to race before the show. Kinda like the opening act at a rock concert. I was the only one in my class on street tires so they mentioned about me going around the water box. They also talked about my 14 second Alero, which still makes track apperacnes every once in a while .

I spun off the line in my first, and only, time shot running a 18.64 @ 70.04 so I didn't know what to dial. I had a .079 light too. I dialed at 18.61 thinking I should dial a 18.54. and I ran an 18.538 @ 69.02 MPH no the brakes hard at the top end

They had monster trucks, jet cars, and wheelie cars. All cool! I took my son and my mom and my son had an awesome time. He was clapping and cheering for the moster trucks and the jet cars where very loud, but running 5.65 @ 289.34 MPH, you'd be loud too

My son did point to the crushed cars and said "Daddy, those cars are broken!, Can you fix them?"

He was a bit "ascared" of one of the monster trucks. It was shaped like a rat, and that's all he talked about the entire way home. He did say that the monster truck couldn't crush daddy's car. I could have told him "because it's an Oldsmobile" but one of the crushed cars, was a 96 Cutlass Supreme

That is pretty cool Redog. You can't beat father and son moments.

I remember being little and going to a lot of events. From watching my dad race his GTO in Texas to monster truck events with transforming cars. One of the best things was getting to load the equipment and roll the tires to be mounted. The smell, the feel, the whole atmosphere was great and has stuck with me for a long time. Easily some of the best and most memorable times.
