Carb Flooding After Hard Acceleration

As the title suggests, when I tromp on it at after a stop, the carb floods out, stalling the car.

This symptom removes all the happy that comes with having the torque of a black hole in my 425.

It's a 2bbl that I rebuilt a couple of years ago. I'm guessing that I need to adjust the float, or that it is sticking. My service manual has instructions, but it looks as though I need a special tool.

I would very much appreciate it if someone could help me with an idiots guide to adjusting the float.

Oh and 66 Delta, in case it matters.

It sounds to me like the float is sticking. I would pop the top off and make sure it is not bent and that it travels freely in it's intended range.
