Can choke pull off be adjusted?
OK I am not a mechanical surgeon!! I took the ole gal out of the barn for spring
( it started on the third try after being asleep for 5 months) I worked on the carb horn and it is true and perfect. ( The choke plate was sticking so I thought the carb was 'out of round') I suspect the choke pull off...can this be tweeked or adjusted and what should I look for? I started it today ( cold) and the choke did
not move...what do i adjust

Squirt the outside linkage with WD-40, and, with the engine off, open the gas linkage a little, and move all the choke linkage through it's movement, full swing.
Do this a few times, until free, and try starting it again.

Yes there are adjustments
Chassis Service Manual reveals all
Year and model would be nice to know
The choke/ fast idle system is not all that complicated, an evening of reading and fiddling with a parts carb will develop a lot of understanding.

My mistake..1964 dynamic 88 2 bbl rochester. The carb was rebuilt last summer. ( float, gaskets etc.) did not replace choke.Issue happens mostly when cold but has happened when it has sat for an hour after heavy use.
NO NO NO. Never use any lubricant on carb linkage. All this does is attract dirt, which gums up the linkage. More to the point, the choke pulloff is unlikely to be causing the choke to stick. If the choke plate does not move freely, find out what is binding and repair it. Sometimes you will need to loosen (do not remove) the screws holding the choke plate to the shaft to recenter it. Also verify that the choke coil is operating properly. And yes, full adjustment procedures and specs are in the CSM.

Joe...you were right on.!!! I backed off screws holding choke plate and realigned it.
It took three adjustments. A dozen cold starts and no problems. Thanks
