A/C Issue or Recharge

My a/c in the 84 Delta 88 is not getting cold. Blows fine but no cold. Is it hard to recharge these cars?

I guess what I'm asking is since it's blowing air but it's not cold does that mean I just need a recharge?

Have you hooked any R-12 gauges to it yet to see if you have any charge left?
Is the clutch on the compressor engaging?
