84 delta 88 trans crossmember

Hey everyone, my buddy is swapping his 84 88 from the 307 to a BB454 and a 200-4R Transmission. We are unable to find any transmission cross members made for duel exhaust for this car on Summit, or Jegs. Do you guys know if a duel exhaust transmission cross member made for a 84 Cutlass with a 200-4R would bolt in?

Cutlass x member will not work. You will have to modify the stock x member.....OR use a dual exhaust crossmember from a 9c1 caprice, extend the frame on the passenger side and use a 700r4, or 9" tail 400 trans.

Is the Cutlass Cross member not long enough to reach? Is there a difference in width from the Delta 88 frame to a G body frame?

Just cut a notch in the stock X-member then weld a piece of plate steel over the cutout.

I agree. That is the easiest route.
Why the Chebby lump? Dollar for dollar, an Olds build would yield a better result. Unless of course he already has a good runner ready to go.

I agree it should be Olds powered, but my buddy has a great running .30 over 454 with 6000 miles on it since it was rebuilt. he is on an extremely tight budget and attempting to build the car with parts he has available. The car had a TH350 with the BOP bolt pattern. He was given a 200-4R that has the duel bolt pattern. Will the TH350 cross member adapt over to the 200-4R? He would much rather use the 4 speed.

Sorry, but the th350 and 2004r crossmembers are different.
He's stuck with the 3 speed unless he pulls the crossmember from another delta that had the 2004r overdrive.

They are both physically the same length, but the mounts are way off.
