Hi
I am trying to install a tilt tele steering column that I acquired years back. I believe it is a 1967 model. The turn signal switch has 2 connectors, a standard semi round 7wire and a three wire connector. Since I didn"t remove the column from the original car I am guessing the 3 wire connector (Gray, Brown, Black-white stripe) is perhaps a backup light switch or something else I do not need. Can anyone help with the function of the 3 wire connector. Thanks
Does the three wire connector look like this for cruise control? The turn signal wiring is self contained in the curved connector. The only additional connector would be for cruise.
Does you car have cornering lights (see example below)? If not, the 3 wire connector is not needed assuming the harness looks like the pic I posted above.

The wiring looks identical to the picture 3 with the gray, brown, and black/white stripe wire. I think it would be for the cornering lights which I do not have on my application. Thanks for your response and pictures. It gives me peace of mind that I can dead end the wires.
Thanks Joe for your reply. I am not using cruise control in my application so I think I can dead end the separate 3 wires from the turn signal switch without any adverse effects. It was suggested that these wires are used for corning lights which I have no use for either. Again many thanks for your reply.

If your plug matches the second photo, then yes those are cornering lights. Insulate that plug, but don't cut the wires. These turn signal switches are sometimes hard to find.
