Cool 66 2 door hardtop

I just bought my first old car. My son is going to help me restore/work on it. It is a 66 2 door hardtop. It has 97K miles on it and runs fairly well. It has been in a garage for 15 years. I am buying from the original owners son. I have not seen others pictured with wheel skirts. Is that unique? I paid $1000 for it. Oh paint is orig and ding free without oxidation. How am I doing?

What model is the 88 and is it a 2bbl or 4bbl car?....Standard issue was the 425 2bbl unless its a Jetstar88 and then it would have a 330 ci engine. I think the skirts were aftermarket items and in my opinion not very flattering on these cars but everone is entitled to their own. A grand buys next to nothing these days so if the car is solid I would say you did ok!

I was wrong

It is a 65 Olds Ninety Eight. The interior is pristine! I confirmed the sale today and will pick it up this weekend. I am very excited.

98's all had factory skirts. And they look right.

What about gasoline?

Does the 65 98 require leaded gas? What do you do about that? Is this a 425 engine like the 88s?
