64 Dynamic 88 4dr.

I just recently acquired a 1964 Dynamic 88 and have a few questions for all you experts out there. From what I've been reading it has a 394 v8 in it but not sure of which one such as high comp. or low comp. and so on. The car not be run in five years so I want to rebuild the carb. and check out the fuel tank. Any other suggestions? Also I wanted to find out if parts were interchangeable with any other models and what they were. Thanks in advance for your time.

If the car is all original (and no one replaced the air cleaner) red is high compression, black is low compression.

Look under the glovebox and in/under the seats and you might get lucky and find the build sheet.

Hey
I picked up an 64 dynamic 88 three years ago w under 80K original. You can find engine specs on the block. Look on drivers side of engine between the first and second plug and you will see a code engraved. From that code you will know alot about your car. I have the original repair manuals and auto specs for the Dynamic 88 . If you want info on your car just e-mail me your codes and I will tell you what I can.
A few things to take care of: My fuel tank was in good shape but I still drained the tank. My fuel line was bad so it was replaced at the same time. I put ten gallons in tank and a bottle of mystery oil. ( In 30 years of tinkering with engines it has always helped)
Most of my gaskets were in need of repair. But wait until you get engine running and have at least a few hours of HOT running hours to give your gaskets to swell.
Drain oil and replace filter prior to start up. Filters are available at national big box parts stores.
You will be surprised at the power and speed of the dynamic 88.
Tranny repair and maint. is a problem...you can't get a new filter any place. I drained a third of my fluid and replaced it with new fluid. I have done this the last two years, just to slowly remove the old ****.
I did replace rear wheel bearings due to the rear end sounding like it had snow tires on it.
Prepare now to have mechanical pump rebuilt unless it has been done recently.
My car is in shop now having a radio installed. ( I had it rebuilt to factory specs)
Also my carb does need a rebuild but I am getting by.
The car isn't a 442 but it has great lines and is a real sleeper. It loves the open road.
Good luck. Send some photos
