Is it possible to remove the gas tank gauge unit / fuel pickup without removing the tank?

I can't get the car to start as there is no fuel coming through. I replaced the after-market inline filter (which was full of sand!) and blew the lines through but still no fuel at the pump. I suspect the filter on the pickup or the pump is also blocked.

Unfortunately the car is in storage not at home so I can't remove the tank there.

No way I know of to get the sender out without pulling the tank. Have you thought of rigging a remote small gas can and getting started and moved with that? ... Tedd
