62 Dynamic 88 conv- hardtop

Toying with buying a 62 Dynamic 88 conv that I recently found in a barn up North. Has a removable fiberglass hardtop as well as the folding top (in the down position). Pretty nice original car, price is right.

Anybody familiar with a top like this? Know it wasn't factory or a dealer option, old guy that owns the car says it's from California and they had them for Pontiac, Chev and others. Actually doesn't look that bad, very similar to the regular HT, but it's removable.

I can guarantee you that it has to be an aftermarket item. Olds has never had a hardtop for the convertible. So let me get this straight. A regular 62 Olds 2dr HT is shaped like a convertible. But you are ponderting a convertible that comes with a HT that looks like the original HT which looks like a convertible.
Anyway I say go for it.

Sounds like a Carson top to me. They were a nice aftermarket, custome item in past. Dave, are you from over at R.O.P.? If so, welcome to our site, well, welcome to our site anyway

Same Dave H with the Pure Stock 68 Ramrod

Hi OldsGuy,

Also wondered who it was from Lees Summit. I use Dave H on ROP and V8 Buick, and Year One FAST site, but dehw31 on the Yenko Supercars site.

Thanks for the responses. I recall the lift off Carson tops on the lead sleds of the 50's (yes, I'm that old. )

If this car was for me (and I didn't have a full garage (or two)) I'd buy it in a minute. Want to make sure it's not something he can't handle in Alabama, though. he's not in the hobby/passion/obsession.

This is a nice site. Like it.

Will be at Norwalk next weekend at Dick Miller meet. Wouldn't miss it.

Thanks for the info. Need to get up there and look at this car a lot closer.

Dave
