i just was given a 53 super 88 it is in realy hard shape where is a good place to start looking for parts.

 

Welcome to our site. Kanter and Fusick both offer parts for older Oldsmobiles, they aren't cheap though. For performance parts new, you can still get some things from the catalogue guys like Speedway and Summit and Jegs. For vintage performance stuff, go to places like the jalopyjournal.com and navigate to their H.A.M.B. forums. They have a lot of used vintage stuff floating around but you have to sift it out because they deal with ALL makes prer '64. Good luck.
