307 cold start issues

When ever I try to cold start my 307 I have to prime it first (pump the gas pedal a couple times) before it starts. Warm starts not a issue starts just fine only after sitting awhile does it happen.

Ive been told to just try some carb cleaner first, any suggestions? Sorry to sound noob but its my first carburator engine

That sounds normal to me. You need to pump the gas pedal to not only set the choke, but provide a little extra fuel for starting. With the quality of the garbage they sell masquerading as gasoline, your float bowl is likely to dry out. That means a few more seconds of cranking to refill it before it can start. Again, sounds normal to me.

X2 as above. With the addition of making sure your choke is set. Also make sure it releases when warm.

That's normal

In the owner's manual it tells you to pump the gas pedal twice, then start the car WITHOUT touching the gas pedal

That's how I started my Delta and it always worked, even with the 350

Perfectly normal for a carb engine.

After one to 3 days, one pump is enough. After a week, 2-3 times are needed.
After many months, the float bowl goes dry. One pump to set the choke, crank for 5 seconds, pump 2-3 times, then it should start.
