1964 fuel pump issue

Ok, I’m officially pissed. Car will fire if I pour fuel in the carb. Not getting fuel to carb. Pulled the pump and put on a spare. Certainly it could be too old too as I’m not getting fuel with it. But I seem to remember getting the pump arm onto the gd elliptical is a PITA. Any tips before I throw this into the windshield? Not sure if these fuel pumps can be bench tested or not.

Knowing the brand & model number of the fuel pump might assist others who view this thread to garner information relative to quality &/or issues w/ select fuel pumps.

I'd be inclined to test the fuel pressure with each pump installed before throwing any parts at it or tossing anything through the windshield.

Getting the arm in proper contact is just a matter of fiddling and worrying it into place.

I've found use of a mirror & flashlight helpful.

As long as you don't put the pump on upside down, just stab the arm into the hole in the block and it should contact the eccentric properly. The pump body usually can't be pulled flush to the block by hand, and you need to attach the lower (I think) bolt and tighten it until the upper part of the flange comes close enough to the block to get the nut onto the stud.

Is this a 330 or a 394? And do you know if the line from the tank is clear? Try disconnecting the input line to the pump and run a hose into a jug of gas.
