Unless you find a parts vendor who specializes in NOS/NORS shocks and suspension and has catalogs to back up his listings, they may be your only option.
NAPA doesn't have a listing? You might have to find a counter jockey who understands paper parts books.

If you have the old shocks you can use the following Monroe chart to identify it and find out what other vehicles use the same size and mounting pattern. Based on that you can search other brands. Monroe is actually pretty good and Bilstein is great but expensive.

Front & Rear Shocks
Of course, the VERY BEST from years ago were the DELCO PLESURIZERS...
But even they are a Hydraulic shock -- and the whole world wants GAS SHOX now... because the technology is superior... a much more cushioned ride....
The old Delco # s were : P1110 = 1957 - 1964 OLDS FULL SIZE -- ONLY --
(and I have only 1 remaining)
For the Fronts
and: P1042 = 1957 - 1960 OLDS FULL SIZE -- ONLY --
for the Rears
I deal with a company that custom makes New Old Stock Shocks -- in a
gas - pressurized shock -- and they even "use" the Delco #s.....
The fronts are "51110" and the rears are "51042"......
They are about $ 75 each, though -- which is $ 300 / set of 4.....

I found NOS DELCO PLESURIZERS on ebay
The P1042 on the rear were a little shorter than what was on the car. Of course I don't know if what was on was correct.
Huge difference well worth the hunt to find the NOS Delco shocks.
