Tm code in 67 cutlass

I found a guy selling a 70 TM code rear end and was wondering if it would bolt right in to my 67 c/s vert? He said it would but was 1 1/2 inches wider and could affect wheel/tire clearance depending on combination. This made we wonder if anything else would be affected?? (control arms, shocks) Thanks

It will bolt in but will be wider than the original. What are you looking for specifically? I can do a 3:23 posi from a 66 that will bolt right in and be correct width.

It will NOT be wider. The BOP cars used the narrower rear end in 64-65 only. The Chevy cars used the narrower rear end in 64-67.
The 70 O-axle rear is a direct swap into your 67.

This is correct - We have 1966 rear that are flat perch bolt on spring that are 55.25 wide. FACT. 1967 ALL BOP cars went 55.25 flange to flange or 61" over all drum to drum.

68 for the chevy rears wider...

Same info different way.

So Jim, in the 66 BOP's, it is a direct fit as well?
If I read right. Good info. I thought
they were narrower as well.

X3. As proof, the part number for the Type O axle housing is exactly the same for the 1967 and 1968 cars. There is no difference in width or mounting.
