Rear end swap or rebuild help

I have a 71 cutlass. I’m doing an ls swap on it, 4l60 transmission. I’m looking to swap my rear end with a 90s rear end from a salvage yard ( what year make and model with be compatible? Or rebuild my old one. What will be my opinions for that also? I won’t be racing it, just cruising, but I would like a nice take off and want posi also.

Nothing from the ‘90s will be a bolt in replacement. The ‘71 rearend should be an 8.5” 10 bolt which is a very good, strong rear. There are lots of gear sets, posi carriers, and axle shafts available from many sources.
