Welcome. A 1981 Olds Ninety Eight only came with the 5 x 5" bolt pattern. The Delta 88s of that vintage used the smaller 5 x 4.75" pattern, but all Ninety Eights, B-body wagons, and B-body sedans with HD brakes and suspension got the big brakes and 5" bolt pattern.

What exactly are you looking for? An axle shaft, or the whole rear end assembly?

I'd count again, but if it really is 26 spline, contact Moser.

We found a 28 spline axel and it wouldn't slide into the pumpkin cause it was to big around and full size Chevy pick up wheels fit on the car

YA G22506477

5 on 4.75 wheel bolt pattern 30.5 inch long axle shaft.

I can get a better price. You really need to pull the axle and measure the exact length. View the picture on how to measure.

Jim,

The OP has a 1981 Ninety Eight. That has a 5 x 5" bolt pattern, not 5 x 4.75". From above:

While I don't know the OP, I have found that surprisingly many people do not know how to measure a bolt circle with an odd number of studs. More to the point, every single 1981 Olds Ninety Eight came from the factory with the 5x5" bolt circle.

The axel is 30 1/2 inch long and it's 26 spline bu I can't find the right bolt patern so I just took the axel to a machine shop and had the bolt hole pattern drilled out

The brake drum registers are different from 5 on 4 3/4 to 5 on 5 (3") This is what centers the drum. Important...

I looked up a mini astro van and i think think one of the left or right axles might work as long as the axle shaft bearing diameter is the same...1.40 is what you need. If the astro mini van has 1.618 your screwed again....

Not sure if the wheel bolt pattern is 5 on 5 or 5 on 4 3/4"

Checking now

small bearing

Well it appear to have the small 1.40 shaft size bearing surface area too. I am sure your Olds with a 7.5 will have that same 1.40 as i do not see a need for a 7.5 rear bearing being bigger as it is a light duty rear...??? right?

Try that axle I can get it for you at some of a discount if you need. Jim
