What size rear end do I have ?

..... on the car , not me that is . What I really want to know is .... what's the gear ratio ? or where would I look to find such info ? I have a 72 CS with a 10 bolt rear .... I read that there is a code on the axle tube somewhere , any info would be great !! thanks Bryan

BTW , its an ordinary 350 4BBL single exhaust Olds with a "K" in the vin if that helps.... kinda looking for a high gear ratio down the road so im not at high RPMs at freeway speeds.

If you look on the Axle tube that's on the passenger side of the differential facing the front of the Car. You might have to wirebrush the tube to get down to the bare metal, but there should be a stamping like... SA-123.

If you look up the numbers in the CSM in the first couple pages, you can decode the rear.
