U joint part #

Can anyone confirm that Moog part #235 is correct for my '72 Supreme?

Thanks.

Yes, that is correct. The 235 comes with a grease fitting. Be sure to install the u-joint such that the hole for the grease fitting is in compression, not tension.

So I'm at the shop now getting the pinion seal and U joints replaced, and the grease fitting for the U joints is actually on the cap. I guess the logic about compression and tension doesn't apply.

The Heavy Duty greasable joints have the fitting in one of the caps, which makes the body stronger by not having a hole near the center of the cross. That is the style I use on my Jeep.

That must be what the shop ordered because the grease fitting is definitely on one of the caps.

Interesting to me since I never knew they manufactured U-Joints with grease zerks in the caps. I'm going to start looking for them from now on.

You and me both...and they now have a new "cap style " grease fitting which uses a needle attachment.

I have a needle attachment. First time I needed it I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to get it attached to the grease gun nozzle. Have to unscrew the grease gun nozzle, insert the needle adapter then tighten the grease gun nozzle to secure the needle adapter (at least on my grease gun). Had me bewildered how that needle adapter got inserted.
