Installation may require additional parts, tools, and expertise.
Mightaswell the bearings, right?
No actual-part photo and no product reviews yet rubs me the wrong way.

Thank you for pointing out a lower price but I'm most concerned with getting the correct and complete parts. Will I need other parts in addition to the carrier? Does it make sense to replace other parts when doing a swap?

DING DING DING...We have a winner. This is EXACTLY what I did when I converted the original 3.23 open in my 1969 Olds 442 to a posi. Many others on here have done the same. Deal with other members of this forum & you will come out ahead. Jim is excellent to deal with & prices are fair.

That said I have done business with Supercars & always was satisfied with the service & parts received. I got a 3.42 crown & pinion from them in June of 2012 (I think it must have been the last one in captivity).

If you currently have 3.08 to 3.23 gears, then this carrier will work. That ad doesn't say if the carrier has new bearings installed, so if it doesn't you will need new carrier bearings and get them pressed onto the carrier. I would also replace the axle bearings and seals when it's apart since they will be readily accessible during the carrier swap.

X3 Jim ( monzaz ) is excellent to deal with, I just did a deal with Him, not only are his prices awesome, he also lowered the price some because the shipping to my place in Canada was up there. New Eaton Posi unit , Eaton HD install kit , 3:42 pinion and gears, Bearings and seals.

The posi unit that Jim sells is NO different than the ones that SuperCars sell,or Bill's Gears sell,or I sell. They are all remachined/modified 8.8" Ford units.
Nobody makes a new casting for the O-axle. That is also why the unit has two sets of ring gear holes. The other set was the Ford pattern.

wELL THERE ARE SOME DIFFERENCES- They sell the trac lock (S Spring) mine is based off the Eaton unit which i consider better. That is the NEW units I sell. Jim

I normally keep a verity of reconditioned and new and can even do true trac posi units BUT with the stagnate supply of GEARS! I have been not producing as many. Jim
