"O" Type Gear & Axle Carrier Kit
I am finally getting around to preparing to install the 3.42 Posi gears I bought from another user here. I have a 68 Cutlass with the "O" type rear end, and I want to be sure I have all of the right parts.
Is this the correct Gear & Axle Carrier Kit?

Are there better options available you would recommend?

Yes, that appears to be the correct kit for an O-Type rear.
I didn't check individual part number prices, but at first glance that seems a bit expensive for 4 bearings/races, pinion seal, shims, crush sleeve, nuts, bolts and gasket. But maybe I'm wrong.

Thanks! I found this one, too. It appears to be right, too, but I know nothing about the quality.

Well, I got to wondering what brand bearings they are supplying in those kits. The second one from Motive has the note below about being able to upgrade to higher quality bearings. I wonder if the "T" means Timken? And maybe that's what the first kit uses, and why it is more expensive? I suggest you call and ask, and also check with Jim at JD Race (monzaz) to see what he has available - I would not have any concerns with the quality of parts from him.

You even have the option of upgrading to higher quality bearings by adding "T" to the end of the part number.
edit: When I searched with a T at end of the part number, it came up with kit that's $5 cheaper, but has the note below:
Special Attention:
Due to a manufacturer shortage, Timken bearings may not be available for your current selection. Motive Gear is working to include equal or better quality bearings
