carrier and gears
The 672 carrier does not go with 3.23 gears. The carrier will be too far to the driver side and you will have the bearings out of the saddle on the passenger side...IT may work but it is not right.
I have a 31 spline carrier here that will botl right up to your 3.23 gears reconditioned aftermarket unit 299.00
If you really what a great posi with the ultimate setup I have a true trac 31 spline that again will bolt up to your 3.23 gears for 525.00 This is the newest technology for posi units.. uses the Helical WORM gears and are strong and great for all driving applications from road racing to drag racing to just tooling around town for burn king.
Also have NEW 31 spline track lock same as the reconditioned unit 31 spline for 450.00 So that should cover all price ranges you would need.
Hope this helps, Jim

Jim, I'm not sure he'll get this message from what he said in the post. If you do talk with him I may have the housing he needs up in Oregon. Not too far from his location if he decides to purchase your internal parts. John

I do have a 1970 housing but the code stamped in it is for 2.56 gears.
I've also got an extra 1968 roof and have gone back and forth between the idea of fixing this one or using it for parts. Last summer I purchased a rusty but complete numbers matching 1968 442 4 speed car. I thought I could use the floorpan and lower body sections from the cut up car to fix the rusty one. Either way would be a big project so I've put it on a back burner for now. John
