Moser stock replacement axel

Moser stock replacement axel
I was looking on Summit for better axels fo the 12 bolt in my 72 cutlass. Moser has stock replacement axels but they are 1/8 inch wider than stock. The reviews say you have to shim the backing plates to get everything to line up correctly. Has anyone used these axels or is there a better alternative to better axels? I’m looking to upgrade since I put a stronger 455 in it and I’m looking at running low 11’s to high 10’s.

what 12 bolt do you have? Chevy? or the Olds 12 bolt?
If it is Chevy there are TONS of different axles for that.
Bolt in axles for the 12 bolt olds you only have a few out there or get custom race alloy ones made from Moser.
we carry Yukon axles for either bolt in 28 spline axles or the 30 spline c-clip axles.
and we can have Moser axles made for the bolt in axles

The car is 70% street car, 30% drag strip. It has the stock drum brakes, and i run an auto with a 3000 rpm converter, no trans brake. I will not put a roll bar in the car so i will be limited to 11.50 passes for the most part. The motor is in the 600hp range and i run 295 50 15 drag radials. The car leaves well and would pull the front tires with the last engine and im over 100 more hp with this new engine.

disc brakes
If you use a econo disc brake kit (right stuff detailing Summit jegs etc) you will not need c-clip elim kit (the caliper will hold the axle in if you do happen to snap the axle shafts ) and you will not have any of the leak issues that seem to come with them and you will not chop up a good 12 bolt Chevy housing.
I would buy any aftermarket axle shafts...They are are pretty good these days from Summit base to Moser Strange etc.
Your hanging on the street more so elim probably NOT a good thing for this set-up
Those are my opinions.
