Moser 12 Bolt or 9" Ford?
Hi all,

Looking for a rear axle for my 65 Cutlass, running a 68 455, 450 hp, 510 tq, 200r4

Which axle is a better choice?

In terms of strength or cost?

I went with a 9 inch Ford in mine. Lots of gear selection stronger than a 12 bolt. Quick Performance has a killer deal on GM A body setups.

9inch is going to be less expensive, you can get used center sections for pretty reasonable. I have seen people buy used parts from NASCAR teams but do not recall the website to find them.

I have a built 12-bolt I'd like to get out of my garage. Mark Williams axles, Richmond 4.88 pro gears, Moroso posi, etc. Let me know if you decide to go that route.

I also went with a Quick Performance 9".
It was a good deal and it's a stout piece.
