I believe SA is a type o 2.78 ratio,1967-1970. 12 bolt cover.

but I don't think that applies to an 8.5" (10 bolt cover), which should be what you have in the 72.

Sorry I am of little help.

Check your cover. If it has 12 bolts, it might be a type o, or a Canadian chevy 12 bolt.
If it has a 10 bolt cover, disregard my last transmission.

If it's original with 10 bolts on the cover my reference shows 2.73 with standard carrier, not a limited slip. John

It's a 10 bolt, Cutlass S with the 442 appearance package...it also came with boxed control arms.

You will notice a difference between the 2:73's & the 3:23's,but with a 350,and that build,I would put more gear in it.At least a 3:42,maybe a 3:73,depending on how/where you are plenning on driving the car.The don't offer any ratio between the 3:42 & the 3:73.
