What posi carrier fits a 1968 Olds type "C" axle? Car has a 3.07 open rear and I would like to put in a posi rear.

I've been told a 8.875 30-spline unit will work, is that true?

What you have is a Chevy 12 bolt rearend, so yes, the 8.875 30 spline carrier is correct.

 

normally it is called a EATON car posi they come in 2 3 4 series
you would need a 3 series with the 3.07 ratio which also holds 3.31 3.55 3.73 GM gears
Aftermarket -Auburn, true trac, Yukon dura drip (same as eaton) power trax locker fits in a open non posi carrier... all these are different posi units that will work in the CHEVY 12 botl rear with c-clip axles.
