Hello all,

I recently acquired a Auburn limited slip unit that was given to me by a buddy because he sold his cutlass. My question is I know I have a 28 spline axel but is it a 8.2 or 8.5? Its a 1972 Oldsmobile cutlass convertible.

I'm hoping that Monzaz can chime in being that I've spoken to you a few years ago.

ALL 71-72 Cutlass/442's came from the factory with the 8.5" 10-bolt rear.Unless your rear has been swapped,it is an 8.5".The posi units from the 8.2" will NOT work.
