83 old custom cruiser

Hello everyone. I am a Newbie in need of help.
Our 83 custom cruiser, which has been with us from new and served us very well, has developed a problem with the limited slip. Looking inside the 10 bolt pumpkin shows no wear on the crown wheel and pinion but bad wear on what I am assuming are the small gears associated with the limited slip. I have tried to identify the type/model of the diff in order to search for parts, if still available, but research hasn't helped any. Any help would be very appreciated.

Welcome to the site, I moved your post here to get you an answer to your question. Post a proper intro in the Newbie section when you get a chance.

Can you find the stamping on the axle tube?

Thanks to both of you for such fast responses.
The Newbie intro I can do now.
Under the wagon will have to wait till morning.
Where on the axle might I find a number?

Welcome. Your wagon has a relatively common 8.5" "corporate" axle. Parts are easy to get.

Thanks for the response Joe. Can you be more specific on the Diff or direct me as to where I might get a more clear idea of what to try to order.
Glad to hear that parts are available.

Well, your Chassis Service Manual has complete information. In any case, Google 8.5 gm axle. This is probably the most common Chevy axle ever made. Parts for it just about grow on trees.

Bad news.
Tried to reposition the wagon to jack her up and no forward drive. Drives in reverse. Will check if the prop shaft is turning in forward just as soon as I get help.
Will let you know.

Took a look underneath and the prop shaft is not rotating in forward gears. Loads up and moves in reverse. Fluid level good.
Any thoughts on this would be helpful before I drag her out and jack her up.
Thanks for the help so far Guys.
