72-7 bolt posi rear
72-7 bolt posi rear
Guys:
I have a question about the 12 bolt rear in my 66 Cutlass, it came out of a 70-72 Chevelle. Everything worked fine, I recently upgraded the rear brakes from 9 1/2" to 11" dia, the diff sat open for a couple weeks while doing this, everything went back together fine. When the chassis is on stands and I roll the RS tire over, it catches and both sides roll, when I roll the LS tire over, the RS does not roll, there also seems to be a bit of lag between when they both do catch. Is this something to be alarmed about? What could I check to see if there is a problem? I refilled the diff with 85/140 lube for an open rear and used a Lucas additive for Posi rears, the guys at the parts store told me this was correct. Any help would be great.
Thanks, Ron

Positive it is a limited slip diff, the vast majority seem to think the clutches are worn. As I stated in the post, both wheels do not roll when turned. I was asking what may be the cause of both wheels not turning.
Thanks, Ron
