65 cutlass rearend
Hi,
From a Hemming article:
10-bolt axles were also offered in two different overall lengths: 1964-'65 assemblies were 56 1/2-inch, narrower than the 1966 and up units. This extra width was added between the brake backing plate and the lower suspension bracket--if your axle has 1 1/2-inches of space there, you have the later 58 1/2-inch wide axle. This can be important, as the axle-shaft lengths also differ between early and late and do not interchange.

60" drum to drum for the 64 65
61" drum to drum for the 66-72
DO remember - after 50 years now most cars do not even have thier original rears under them so do not assume it...MEASURE the rears before buying no matter what year they come from.
62" for the 73-77 drum to drum (but they will not fit mounting mounts totally different a-body mounting points for the upper and lower control arms. )
