67 442 electric fan fitment issues

I got a Mark VIII ( supposed to be the same as a Taurus) electric fan.Tied it the aluminum radiator and set it in the cradle and discovered the fan motor will not clear the water pump pulley. The fan is right under 6 inches wide. I was under the impression the Taurus electric fan was the way to go. I'm going to double check the part number on the fan. The radiator is all the way forward. May need a thinner fan for a 67? Ideas?

Update-if I replace the studs and lock washers holding the pulley on the water pump with bolts and use lock-tite that gives me a 1/4 inch and I have about a half inch I can trim off the fan, that may work. 3/4 inch should work especially if I offset the fan more towards the drivers side.

We shall see Eric, thanks! With 2500 CFM on low and 4500 CFM on the high side, and being offset to drivers side-not centered with the radiator-should be fine. I will post some pics-if it works!
