Hidden images in Wood Grain trim.
My 1970 Cutlass Supreme had the Burl Wood trim on the dash board, including the strip across the glove box.
When I looked closely on the design pattern on the glove box panel, I can see what I believe to be images hidden in the wood grain pattern.
Of course it could be just random luck or my imagination.
I see a woman’s face on the right end of the trim (eye, nose, mouth, head).
On the Left side bottom, I see 2 or 3 Skulls.
I was wondering if anyone else with similar trim had a similar pattern. I never see this exact pattern on any other Supreme before.

It's just you. I see creatures from planet Xanifer 3rd. Did you work in advertising back in the 60's, 70's? Then you'd have a case if you smoked "Marlboro"s. They had subliminal stuff in everything they did. IIRC mostly it was skulls and death....
I think you and a therapist would have a good time discussing ink blotch cards.
If the therapist wants to have you committed shoot us a quick SOS and we're your headed and we'll put together a visitors schedule for you.

Maybe it's the power of suggestion but I see it, too. I also see a big dog's face just to the left of the woman.
I love that computer generated stuff where you have to stare at the random colors and then suddenly you see the image.
Maybe we're looking into another dimension.
Or the guy printing out the burled pieces was thinking, this will screw with people down the road...

I see them, and...clearly your car is worthless because it is cursed FOREVER!!! That said...I'm willing to take it off your hands for a couple hundred bucks. I can then use it for Fireman's drills to practice with the Jaws of life. Do you have the title?
You really need to read this book. This was big in the 1970s, when subliminal sex for advertising was a hot topic. The culmination was the urban myth that the dots on the back of a Ritz cracker are arranged to subliminally spell "sex".
There's a name for this but I can't remember what it is. It's the human brain making order out of chaos. Remember when snow on a pre-digital tv was completely random? I could stare at it and make most anything appear. I remember a night when I was trying to sleep but I kept hearing the television. But it wasn't on. Turned out it was random noise from a running window fan.
Or it was just the psychedelic drugs

WHERE?
That would make it worth a fortune on ebay!

Someone bought a jar of peanut butter, opened it and saw the face of Jesus. It sold for the price of a semi full!
Yeeeah, pretty sure we spotted those "woodgrain" ghouls back in the 70's sittin' in those babies.
I remember in the days of yore when once getting pulled over...
while stuffing bottles under your legs, spraying Ozium madly, extinguishing smoldering intense that now has started the seat on fire... you see all sorts of evil coming out of the woodwork!

This is the first thing that came to mind when I saw your pic.......

If you stare at it long enough, it seems to move in waves, too, and, like, sometimes it pulses out and, like, tries to pull you in.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! I'm scared!! It's trying to get me!!!!

I opened the Scorpion file and then switched back to "Words With Friends" until the music started getting to me. I played "Hemi" on a tripple word space, things were going great, then I fell into the trance. It looks kinda like burl walnut, but it's not. That's how kinda like burl walnut looks.
I love the comments guys.
Remember this drawing was made in 1969, the era of Love, Peace and Drugs.
I think the artist that created the drawing was smoking at the time.
So, if any of you also have a 1970 with the Burl wood pattern, I would love to see yours.
Can ya Dig it.

Pareidolia (/pærɨˈdoʊliə/ parr-i-doh-lee-ə) is a psychological phenomenon involving a vague and random stimulus (often an image or sound) being perceived as significant, a form of apophenia. Common examples include seeing images of animals or faces in clouds, the man in the moon or the Moon rabbit, and hearing hidden messages on records when played in reverse.

But the OP begs... is it treatable?
