'68 and '69 Door Swap

I have a '68 cutlass convertible. Will a '69 hardtop door interchange?

Thanks, Mike

Hi Mike
Sorry, they're different. The 1968 has a wing window and the 1969 doesn't. You'll have to find a 1968 door. If you haven't created a parts wanted thread yet I'd encourage you to give it a try, and include your general location. If your lucky there maybe someone within driving distance who has one.

John,
If I have the wing window and all the internals from my '68 door, will it bolt into the 69? Just hoping for a easier fix since I found the 69 door already.

NO! A good idea but the 69 internal door structure isn't set up for a vent assembly.

Dang....got it. '68 door only! I assume (I know) that a convertible and hardtop door will interchange.

But a 69 door will fit on your 68. It just won't have the vent window. Henry (66400) can tell you if the 69 glass is specific to a convertible (I think it is)

The doors are the same but the 68 convertible vent window and hardtop vent window are different

Gentlemen,
All great information. Thank you. I will look for a '68 HT or Convert. door and use my existing wing window. Appreciate it.

Thanks, Mike

As luck would have it the A body 69 2dr hdtp and 69 converts do share the same door glass, for that matter so does 70-72 2dr ht and convert.

69 is a one year only door glass.

That's what I typed a 2dr hdtp/convert 69 door glass only fits 1969.

68 2dr hdtp/convert door glass will be 68 only.

Just so everyone can see the vent window differences in 68:

Here's a pic of a convertible driver's side and hard top passenger side side-by-side The convertible one has a slight bead on the inside (top in this pic):
