1970 Cutlass: What is the actual curb weight??
I've read so many different variations on this fact.
I feel like I really have no idea here.
I've read 68-72 Chevelle's say ~3300lbs, 3520lbs, etc.
I've read 68-72 Cutlasses wiki says 3515lbs but 442's it says 3713lbs
THey're both A-body's so it's hard to see how a Chevelle was 200lbs lighter.
Does anyone have a CONFIRMED link with proof ??
Being that the 442 had the big block that weighed in very closely to the same weight
as the 350ci, I'm curious if anyone knows where the extra ~200lbs came into play.
I seen to see so many different answers I cant' get a hard fact on this.

I weighed my 70 post coupe at Jorgensen Steel back in 94 or 95 and with the 455/400, no A/C compressor, brackets, lines or condenser and a full tank of gas it came in at 3910 with a steel hood. Not sure how accurate that scale is at that weight level though.

3500-3625 were the advertised weights for all 72 Cutlass 2-doors in the sales brochures. Of course that varies by options and powertrain choices. The vert was the heaviest due to the box frame and top hydraulics.

Add in extra soundproofing and insulation on the Olds and you've gained a hundred pounds easy.
The factory was known to fudge weights to get around some states' license fees. For example over 4000 lbs in VA tacked on an extra $20 to your annual license fee.

.
- Turbo 400 heavier than Turbo 350
- dual exhaust heavier than single exhaust
- FE2 suspension components (rear sway bar and boxed rear control arms) a bit heavier.

Setting the Pace lists the following weights for 1970 Cutlasses and 442s:
Cutlass V-8 Town Sedan: 3572
Cutlass V-8 Holiday Sedan: 3627
Cutlass S V-8 Sports Coupe: 3520
Cutlass S V-8 Holiday Coupe: 3556
Cutlass Supreme Holiday Sedan: 3662
Cutlass Supreme Holiday Coupe: 3575
Cutlass Supreme convertible: 3614
442 Sports Coupe: 3771
442 Holiday Coupe: 3817
442 convertible: 3844
Weights are also given for 6-cylinder Cutlasses and 6 and V-8 F-85s.
I'm guessing each of these is with the base engine.

Thank you very much gentlemen.
All of the information provided helps me get a better grasp of what my weight class is now.
All this time I thought these cars were 3800lbs with the SBO's in them.
What kills me is this is a FULL FRAME car, and my 1978 F-body is not and it was ~3580lbs factory.
Crazy isn't it ?? Hence why I thought the 3800lbs was a better assessment and the larger car.
So I'm probably going to be ~3400lbs when I'm done. That's awesome.
I wish I knew what the factory Olds O rear end weighed compared to a 12 Bolt Chevy.
Can't be much different I'd assume....have to weigh my car when I'm done.

I think you should still be able to drive onto the scales over by Jorgenson Steel. At least you could 3 years ago before I moved. If you don't know where it is, it's on Mitchell BLVD just north of Irving in Schaumburg. The scale is on the south end of the building. (just looked on google maps and it seems to still be there)

Oh wow, that's literally right by me.......thanks!!!!
You really know my area still.
Going to call them and ask what they'd charge me.
