Hi everyone, I'm hoping for some help. I am trying to find window sweeps for my 1966 4 door Cutlass Supreme hardtop. Everywhere I look all I find are 2 door coupe or 2 door sedan. If you have any ideas for me I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you, Gary K.
They do not exist! I have a 66 F85 deluxe hardtop and had to find one. I eventually found a used one off a buick 66 hardtop at a salvage yard for 5 bucks.
66sportcoupe, thank you for the information, I honestly thought I was losing my mind. Do you know if the ones for the 2 door sedan or coupe would work even if I had to cut them down? I'm really trying to come up with a solution

I have a 1969 Supreme Holiday Sedan. On it, there were two different type of sweeps. One for the cars with the optional bright anodize window trim, and one for the standard window with no trim. Of course mine had the optional bright window trim which the do not make sweeps for. I ended up buying bendable fuzzies from Steel Rubber and gluing them to my bright trim.

That is a beautiful car. I have the bright trim also. The molding is in decent shape so I'm going to try to clean out the old felt and use some felt weatherstripping I found. I doubt I will get 60 years out of it but options are limited 😂. Thanks for the reply and the pic.
Steel Rubber has an excellent video on how to bend and bond their felts with 3M adhesive.
Can you possibly show me what you got? I looked on their website but I don't think I saw what I was looking for? I like that option better than what I had planned. Thank you
Thank you, that definitely helps. I think I found what I need. I found the 3ft beltline weatherstrip pr with the rubber "scraper" for the outside and 3ft beltline with felt for the insides. 2 pairs of each should do all 4 windows. I still need to double check everything before I order but on the right track I think 🤔

If you order from Steele Rubber, make sure you get the bendable felt. I accidently ordered the wrong felt the first time and it was to stiff to bend. I ended up buying these.

okay, good point. I think the ones I was looking at were not bendable so that would be fine for the front doors but not the backs. I will make sure I get the right ones. Thanks again.

One other question for you, do you have felts on both the inside and outside of ypur windows or are you running rubber sweeps on the outside?
On my 69, the felts are glued on the bright anodize window trim on the outside. The front door felt is strait and the rear door has a curve. On the inner side of my window the seal is on the door card panel. Mine was in good shape and I did not need to replace it. I can't remember if it was felt or rubber. I used the felt sweeps from Steele which matched my old felts dimension, but I think I could have went bigger for a better seal. I think the only thing the felt is there for is to protect the glass and quiet wind noise. The doors are designed to let water in from the top around the windows and drain out the bottom weep holes of the doors. That is why there is waterproof paper that protect the door cards and rubber flappers on the bottom of the doors over the weep holes. It is amazing how much these cars won't rust when you figure out where GM put all the drain holes in them and keep them clean.

Sounds good. It is pretty cool how they engineered the doors, not many electronics to worry about back then. I do have a rust pocket in the passenger front door that I need to deal with( I think from a plugged up weep hole) when the weather gets nicer. Thanks again for all the information and if you ever get to Reno, Nevada, let me know and I will buyvyou a beer 🍺😁
Thanks, it's good to hear from another 4 door owner 😀. My dad had this car since 1981 and he passed in 2021. It sat for a while so it took some time and friends help to get it where it is now. Still some work to do but fun to drive.

that's great that you got his car fixed up and running again. He would be proud I'm sure. 🫡
