Mystery grilles

I have a set of grilles that were transplanted onto my poor '72 Supreme. The part #'s are:407332RH, 407333LH. Does anyone have a parts number book to tell me what I have? Thanks, they look like they might be off a Vista Cruiser, but I'm not sure what year. Chumley

There are three or four possibilities of what they could be. A 72 Supreme is the checkerboard. the ones posted above are for an "S". The 1971 S and Supreme grills will fit as well as the 442 grills of that year.

Post a pic and we can tell.

I just rememberd the Delta 88 grilles LOOK really close to the Supreme, but they don't fit well.

The grilles and their part numbers should have a page in the assembly manual, the 71 version does. The grille pictured is for a '71 S or Vista Cruiser. The part numbers are 407818-R.H., 407819-L.H..
There were three grille types in '71 and none of them are the number asked about, need a pic.

The grilles are identical to the picture in the first reply on this thread. But those are the numbers on them that I posted. All the mounting tabs appear to be in the same place as Supreme grilles. I just wanted to know what to advertise them as if I sell them.

Maybe a part number change?, they've been known to do it.
Those are '71 grills in the pic for sure.

Advertise them as 1971 Cutlass "S" or Vista Cruiser grills.

They don't repo them, took me forever to find a decent set for my Veesta Cruiser.

Hey folks, I just got my 71 cutlass about a month ago and have been working to get it on the road... I was wondering if you could tell me why the ggrills all look like they have been cut along the top? Is there a molding that goes along the hood to match it up? I dont have it on mine and it just looks like someone took a hacksaw to it lol.

Yeah, I think they're cut, you can send them to me.

There is a molding on each side of the hood on the fronts of the hood bulges above the grilles.
The '72 moldings look similar but have a different profile so don't use those.

Look at my avatar and you can see it a little.

The '72 grilles wrap around inside on the outer top ends and the '72 core support has provisions for those. I know '71 grilles will work on '72's but not sure if it works the other way around?

Check this out and look under the heading "miscellanies" on the left at the core support differences.

Are they cut there?

71cutlass455 yes, those are 72 supreme grills, when I had a 72 years ago I painted them black - they looked great though not sure I would do that now.

Edit: Or maybe I will keep these, and just get the hood moldings to match it... It could look alright.
