06D = time build code = June (06), fourth week of that month (D), 1968. This is a fairly late production car.

ST 68 = style/model year = 1968

34287: 3 = GM division = Oldsmobile; 42 = model series = Cutlass Supreme; 87 = body type = holiday coupe (two-door without a post)

LAN = assembly plant = Lansing MI

430844 BODY = Fisher body number, which has no relationship to the VIN

TR 975 = interior color and front seat type = garnet (dark red) interior with bucket seats

V - 2 = lower (V) and upper (2) body colors = Juneau gray body color (V) with a black vinyl top (2)

FWIW that cowl tag could be from another car the way it's been attached. The do make the correct rivets for it should you want to replace those TEK screws

Wow, when I deciphered the trim tag I failed to notice those bolts that were staring me right in the face. It would be interesting to hear from CincySabre if what the trim tag says matches the car that it is on.
