Hi All,

Thanks for the replies about the exhaust system, hung the suspension using a bumper jack, went right in. Next question: The hood hinges appear to be new as are the springs, however, hood is difficult to raise and will not stay up by itself. (have to put a stick under it to keep it up) Are there different springs for different hoods? Hood is a 72 442 hood with the black louvers. Thanks for the replies.

The hinges should hold the hood up if they are in good shape.

You are probably going to have to replace them.

 

Are the pivots worn out?

 

Had the wrong hood springs on my 71 when I got it. Hood required a stick to stay up also. Swapped em out, now hood stays up on its on
