What do you think of this stock looking 72 Supreme?

I don't know why... but I am liking the whitewalls and hubcaps the more I look at them. Perhaps I am getting tired of the same ol Super Stock rallye rims most seem to put on. These are the same hubcaps I had on mine originally, along with single exhaust. I am just trying to picture 14/14 silver pewter paint (mine) with this tire setup. One thing with these small 14" tires... they 'spin' quite easily.

If your needing some of those hubcaps to give it a try I've got a couple sets. Yours for the cost of shipping. John

Thx. Actually, I still have my original hubcaps. Just hard to picture it whole with only a half frame at present

I've always liked whitewalls with hubcaps, or for that matter whitewalls and factory styled wheels look good to me too. I know a lot of guys can't stand whitewalls, but most 50s-70s cars look their best with them.

However- that particular style of wheelcover has never been in my short list of favorites. Seems to me that Oldsmobile's base full wheelcovers were always plain to the extreme, while the higher up the option list you went, the more stylish and "Oldsmobile-ish" they were.

A nice car. That combo looks good, as that is how most of them equipped.

I like that combo.
Those wheel covers are nice for just caps. Ever see the plain base 'granny caps' of the mid 80's? Those will make the ones pictured look quite classy.

It is all a matter of what you like and that is the way it should be. You might thing about a set of factory wire wheel covers. When was the last time you saw a set of those. If you are going to use whitewalls, I think they would really dress the car up. Just my thoughts though.

Yeah, everybody and their grandmother has Super Stock wheels, dare to be different.

I've never liked the '72 wheel covers either, not enough center, the wire wheel covers would be cool.
If they had them in '71 I would of put them on my Vista, I still may.
I like the regular '71 wheel covers a lot better, they have those open inner slots that reflect on the outer rim of the wheel cover and makes them look most turbine impeller-like.
I had two sets of the deluxe type and scrapped them, got decent bucks too. They must weigh about 10 pounds each and need a wire cable tether to a lug nut so they can't fly off and cleave some unfortunate person's skull who happens to be walking down the sidewalk when you're driving by them and a wheel cover decides to come loose.
Too much unsprung weight to carry around, Ive always heard you should keep it to a minimum.

My Vista is very rare, it doesn't have Super Stock wheels and an OAI hood.
I likes wheel covers and wagons, I'm a rebel without a cause who hears a different drummer drumming.

It's nice to see a non Rally wheel Cutlass now and then. I always liked those wheelcovers and I think the whitewalls complement them well. I do know that those covers are a whole lot easier to keep clean than the rallies...

Look again. The outside diameter of those stock 14" tires is probably larger than the OD of most 16" tires. The diameter of the tire is unrelated to the diameter of the wheel.

I will say that I've always liked the look of the 70-72 Supremes without the vinyl top, especially the "halo" top used on the 71-72 cars.

Well all the smaller stock size 14" tires I have used over the years spin MUCH easier than all the others 15" and up I have used. Fact in my case. No mor, no les. Perhaps it was just the crappy Canadian Tire or Sears tires used.

Looks good to me.
My son, 11 at the time thought the whitewalls on my Cutlass were cool. (who would have guessed that)
