Timing indicator

Is this supposed to be painted gold on a 72 350?

For my 455 I painted it black and used a small brush to paint the numbers and tick marks white. It is much easier to see when setting the timing. Of course, if you are painting your engine "original" color with reproduction paint this might not be something you would want to do.

That's a neat idea.

Even if you are painting your engine the original color anything that makes it easier to see the timing is a bonus. Not too many of us are into absolute concourse restos.
