Speaking of 65 tail lights
I have been wanting a different look but has to have an OEM feel to it.
Been thinking about adding tail lights from another sixties car.
Today I was looking at BRO442's site and found a nice F85 rear end shot.
Did a quick "paint" to black out the tail section.
Not the greatest "paint" job but you get the idea. {click on the pic for a bigger view}
I kinda like it. Simple and easy. At least so far.

i dunno. not ringing any bells for me. What if you remove the trim spear from the middle of the black part?
Its tough on a white car, because the aluminum trim isn't much different than the paint color. On a different color car i would say to paint it body color.

W/O spear and a couple other ideas. including the untouched pic.
Forgive my poor quality "paint" picture mods. I have photoshop @ home but yet to open it up. Hoping my 13 yo would take interest.

I like the first version you posted. The Pontiac one is too... Pontiacish!
I wonder hor it would look with the el cheapo F85 no-panel trim, with either white or black background.Nice ideas,a change that isn't too far out,and easy to do or change back. ---bil

I think the blacked out tail section is by far the best and I like it. If you start changing style lights you have to do a bunch of other custom changes to the body to tie it all in as a custom. It's very had to pull off and look right on a mid-late 60's car. Leave the custom bodywork for the early 60's cars and older cars.

If it was me, I'd choose the blacked out one you first posted Monday to Friday and every weekend.
Can I make a suggestion that might make this thread a little bit more fun for you? Change it into a poll by listing the choices. It's an option that the site has, but very few people seem to realize it's there. I think you'd have to start a new thread, or maybe one of the mods could steer you there.

Cross between the silver one w/o trim and the 1st blacked out one.
Fun to think about, I may try a poll?
some krylon and a little effort I can try stuff on my car.
Sorry Stan I don't have back up deletes.
Tried to get someone to photoshop ideas (look much better than the "hack" stuff I'm doing. But so far no takers on the truck site I frequent.

Both are nice choices.
I tend to be more of a purist with my choices, but also know that each of us tends to add a personal touch that reflects our character.
I'm making changes to my car that some on this forum won't agree with, but that's life. My changes will affect the presentation of the car, but not its lineage.
Either of the choices you suggested are subtle and don't detract from the overall aesthetics of the car.![Big Grin](https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
And, after all it is your car. Our thoughts are just ideas for your consideration. Love to see what you finally come up with.
