Sealing a 1965 ac evaporator box

Sealing a 1965 ac evaporator box
I am in the middle of redoing the ac in my 1965 Vista Cruiser. When I bought the car, all the hoses were in a box and nothing was sealed off on the suction throttling valve, expansion valve, or the compressor. Decided to just replace everything, including the evaporator.
All the new parts are ready to go back together, but I am not sure of the best way to seal up the evaporator box before I put it back in. All the old pipe seals crumbled when I took the box apart, so reusing them is not an option. Being a 65, the box is in under the passenger side dash behind the inner fender, so I really want to make it as water/dirt proof as possible, but still have the box come apart easily if something goes wrong.
Any and all thoughts on the best way to do this are appreciated.

Here are photos of the box. Where I want to seal off the box are the line that connects to the expansion valve (first photo) and the line that connects to the STV (second photo).
