RADIO BRACKET

I'M A NEW MEMBER I HAVE A 71 CUTLASS CONVERTABLE AND I JUSTREINSTALLED MY FACTORY RADIO AND NOTICED THAT THE BRACKET IS MISSING.DO I REALY NEED IT. DOSE IT HELP WITH THE GROUND AND RECEPTION.DOSE AYBODY HAVE OR KNOW WHRE TO GET ONE. THANKS.

Regardless of the type of radio you install, you need the rear bracket.
Functionally the radio might still work by grounding through the ground of the antenna lead. However, you do need the extra structural support.
The weight of the radio hanging on the plastic dash plate will cause squauks and squeaks, and over time the plastic dash panel will warp and become noticable.
I ended up making a bracket with scrap metal and bolting it into a hole that was already there. Not original, but out of view...
