a guy in my area is selling an OAI Hood, my question is how do i tell if it is original hood or if it is an aftermarket hood

Look at the frame on the bottom of the hood an origional will be steel and will look like the frame on a regular steel hood. There are cheaper aftermarkets with a steel frame but the frames don't resemble the factory ones easy to spot, then there is the Thornton hoods which do match the factory hood and are worth just as much IMHO. IIRC I read somewhere the Thornton hoods have a slight difference with the fiberglass lip on the edge but I don't know if it's true or what that difference is.
