I'd hang on to those originals. And I like the look of the new!

Well, I was planning on hanging onto them............until someone waves a handful of cash at me.

The rims are 14"x6." I've been told that they aren't really sought after, people want the 15" x7" rims for their Oldsmobiles.
I also have another complete set of 14" rims with all the trim pieces. I figured I'd keep those with some junk yard 14" tires on them to use in case of an emergency.

Thanks for the replies everyone.
1) I'm up in Sudbury, Ontario, CANADA.
2) I got the wheels from VOXX (old school) wheels, but there are a couple of different companies that sell them.

The fronts are 17"x8" with 225/50R17 NITTO 450 tires.
The rears are 17"x9.5" with 275/50R17 NITTO 450 tires.
They fit great.

That sounds a lot like " How much to you want for them? "

Cool looking wheels. Those rears are really wide a$$! Looks a lot more agressive now. Sorry, don't know the answer to this; is the new wheel combo the same diameter as the old stock ones that came off? They look really close!

The new front tires are almost the same diameter. When I put them side by side with the old ones, the new ones were maybe an inch taller. The rears are a good two inches taller then the originals.

I got my front seat back from re-upholstering last night. I just have to finish up a few "little" things on the car and I'll be ready for Spring. The temperature is supposed to go up to 12 degrees C, today. So, hopefully Spring is only a few weeks away.

Be careful on your drive. With the change in size profile, your cars speedo will register a lot lower than the actual speed. (translation: watch for speed traps or use GPS speed monitoring) The change in profile you made is quite significant.

I am going to check my speedo against my GPS to be sure, but this is going to be my family cruising car, so it won't be going too fast.

The way I see it, taller tires=less RPM for cruising=better gas mileage.

That's one way to look at it. But if these are going to be the tires that stay on the car, you can buy adapter gears for the trans cable so the speedo reading (and odometer to BTW) are accurate.

One thing I've heard but never had someone prove to me is that larger tires cause MORE rolling resistance. IF that's true, your larger tires might cost you more in gas also .....

1) I bought the tires from VOXX wheels through my local auto parts store. They are the same as COYS C-55's. I think a company called B/G rodworks makes them for everyone else. Mine came with B/G centre caps.

The sizes are 17"x8" for the front, and 17"x9.5" for the rear. I wasn't able to choose my back spacing but the fit nicely.

2)I've heard of larger tires causing more rolling resistance but I think it's more of a consideration on trucks. Like when you go from stock tires to 35's or something like that.

Eventually my goal is to put steeper gears (3.42-3.73) with an overdrive trans. That's down the road though, first things first, I gotta look cool.

New rims look sweet. I updated mine also. Those look like the same one's used on Toretto's Chevelle in Fast Furious 4.

If anyone needs a nice set of SSIII's in America I'm in the Chicago suburbs
and have a set with Cooper Cobra's I've been holding onto for awhile.

They need a new home. Shipping them would be $$$ though I'm sure.

4 are body matched , and the spare isn't. One of the trim rings is scratched.
That's about it. PM me a reasonable offer if interested and I'll send current pics.

I'm still partial to the original Ralley's, but those are probably the best aftermarket wheels I've seen(on a Cutlass) With the short profile on the tires, you would not even think the rims are 17's. Complements the car very nicely. Chumley
