Line/Broadcast ticket, sheet ??

I found these 2 different sheets in my car. Can someone explain to me what exactly they are? It is a Lansing built car so I understand that finding a build sheet is very unlikely, and I think one of these is a "broadcast sheet"?? The top one was found under the rear seat, the bottom one was found under the front carpet on the driver side.

thank you

Broadcast cards. Your bottom one indicates special paint, what color is the car?

Very, very cool. The upper document is a broadcast card. The lower is a line card or line ticket. That one has far more information and the numbered boxes at the bottom correspond to the build sheet boxes and the IBM card columns. The 1972 Inspectors Guide documents these RPO codes.

Box 44 is the L75 engine (though the "U" code in the VIN already told you that)
Box 45 is M40 TH400
Box 46 is G93 2.73:1 axle
Box 47 is PO1 wheel disks
Box 49 is PK2 G78-14 whitewall tires
Box 50 is U63 AM pushbutton radio
Box 51 is A65 Custom Sport Bench Seat with armrest
Box 52 is an "A" that does not correspond to any known RPO code (the option codes in this box are all window-related - power or tinted. Does your car have a combination of tinted and power windows?)
Box 53 is a "B", also unknown (this box covers power trunk and power seat options - "B" may be a combination of them?)
Box 54 is AK1, Deluxe front and rear seat belts
Box 56 is an "A", also unknown (this box covers floor mats and power locks)
Box 58 is an "A" also unknown (this box covers side moldings)
Box 60 is a "5", which is not one of the options in that box. (this box covers remote mirror and A/C)
Box 62 is JL2, power disk brakes
Box 64 is N33, tilt wheel
Box 65 is N47, power steering
Box 66 is U35, electric clock
Box 68 is V36, bumper guards
Box 71 is Y62 Special Paint
Box 73 is Y60 Convenience group.

Seems like a very nicely optioned car with cool documentation.

Thanks for the additional info. Apparently these "unlisted" code letters in those boxes were a way to get around the limitations of the IBM card 80 column configuration and designate combinations of RPO codes.

"A" in Box 52 must mean tint (A31) and power windows (AO1)
"B" in Box 53 likely means power seat (A41) and power trunk (A90)
"A" in 56 I suspect means both front (B32) and rear (B33) floor mats
The only RPO codes in Box 58 that could apply to a convertible would have been B93 Door Edge Guards and B84 Protective Side Molding, so that must be what that "A" represents. If these are not on your car, could they have been removed during a repaint?
"5" in Box 60 must mean remote mirror (D33) and A/C (C60) since center console, wagon rear widow deflector, and comfortron would not be applicable to your car.

A loaded, documented U-code convertible is one heck of a rare beast. Good luck with it.
