Hey guys I am very new to Oldsmobiles and just purchased a 67' Custlass last evening. I was wondering if someone could clue me in on some of the basics:

I used oldsmobility but really struggled trying to break the tag down. The car has 67,000 miles, original owners manual, keys, plates. It's painted Black Cherry with a Vinyl top. Interior is in GREAT shape.

It DOES have a 330CI 320horse motor with the Turbo Hydromatic 350 along with a 12-bolt rearend. I know this is correct for this year but how do I tell if it's numbers matching?

The casting number above the water pump is 3944173

ANY help would be great. Thank you!

Well like i said it apparently has the 330CI 320HP motor with TH-350 and the 12bolt rearend. I hope it's original to the car but don't know how to verify that.

Sounds like a really nice '67. That 320 hp 330 is a real sleeper. One of the best small block Olds motors ever!

Does you car have air conditioning?

 

If the trans is really a TH350, it's definitely not original. The TH350 didn't exist until 1969. The original trans would have been a two speed ST300 (AKA Jetaway), which despite popular opinion is NOT a Powerglide.

The "12 bolt" Type O axle was available in the 1967 Cutlii. Be aware that despite having twelve bolts on the cover, this is not the 12 bolt Chevy axle. The Type O uses only ten bolts on the ring gear and that gear is only 8.5" in diameter.

yes the car was an A/C car. Compressor and brackets were removed but evap etc is still in tact.

 

Okay, that column 2 E is probably for the AC, then.

 

Here are some poor pictures (just rained)

So the interior is in EXCELLENT shape. One minor tear on driers side, aftermarket speakers and CD player, dash is near perfect. All interior lights work as well as exterior.

Body is OK with some signs of amateur body work. It looks like it was hit on the drivers side at some point (quarter panel). Trunk and floors are very solid. Runs and drives great.

What is this car worth in this condition?

Maybe I missed something, but the Olds "illiterati" let you know that your car COULDN'T have the original trans,but you ran an ad saying you believe it is,though not confirmed...I bought my car on Evilbay from a "100% +ve Power Dealer who listed it as numbers matching.Being new to the Olds family, I had yet to learn how deceptive and/or meaningless that term is.I'm sure you'll be brutally honest with perspective buyers and keep the Olds brand above reproach!

Well i am sorry of anyone if offended anyone by posting and selling my car. I came across it at a reasonable price and had intentions of re-selling it.

I'm not going to "hit and run" here it was a site I felt confident in would help be learn more about the car. I am trying to diversify my knowledge in cars so I though joining this forum would be a great chance to start with the Oldsmobiles.

You could have received the answers you looked for and still been honest about your intentions. We are enthusiasts here, and welcomed you as such, not knowing you had no intention of keeping your car.
And you're still not honest with your ad even with the change you made. Apparently you don't like answer you got about the transmission and don't want to be honest about that either.
That is frowned on in this neck of the woods.

 

With a name like "korbsklassics", one has to assume this is a dealer. He came here looking for free advice and a free appraisal so he can flip the car and make a profit. Ignore it.

 

I agree with you wmachine! all he had to do was say so in the beginning, and that would have been good enough for me. Nothing wrong with flipping a car and looking for advice....we all like to give each other a hand...just don't lead us on...I feel so used........OK, I'm over it now...by the way, if one of us wants to buy it, do we get a nice discount!

 

I want to see what it looks like under that trunk mat. It's tough to really tell from the pics but I did see a few minor imperfections here and there. Still a nice looking car.
