interchange

i have a 1980 cutlass calais what years will interchange with the gauges package

Should be '78-'88. Couple things that might cause problems: if you're going from a sweep speedo to full gauges, you would need proper sending units. You might also need to add wiring for the tach, don't know if this was fully wired up from the factory without full gauges. Also, about '80 or '81, they added metric numbers to the speedo. I believe the gear indicators can be changed out, if you have a 3-speed and end up with an OD cluster. If you do the swap, change out all the bulbs for fresh ones, and put the cluster in and check all bulbs for proper operation before putting the dash back together. The left turn signal indicator is sometimes a problem, just requires minor adjusting.

Don't forget the note about the erratic tach operation/fix.

I would replace all illumination bulbs with 168's vs 194's, it does help some.

Those clusters were never very bright at night.

my car only has one hookup not two, am i missing something? the book shows two hookups or did someone screw up in the past? my car is a 1980 calais ,made in early 1980 before the computer.
